Work-Related Injuries

Typically our workplaces are relatively safe, as they have to be due to the law. There are, however, some instances where you could possibly find yourself injured while at work. There are many types of work-related injuries that correlate with many different types of work. To give you a generalized idea about what types of work related injuries there are, we've grouped them into particular fields.

Types of Work-Related Injuries

Driving Based Injuries

  • Improper training on Fork Lifts or Pallet Trucks

  • Poor Maintenance of vehicles

  • Working long or late hours

Factory Based Injuries

  • Straining on a repetitive basis

  • Handling, carrying or lifting objects that are too big or too heavy

  • Malfunctioning or unwatched heavy machinery

  • Falling from ladders or other heights

Equipment Based Injuries

The workplace that has the highest rate of fatalities is the construction industry. Many of the injuries that happen here may overlap w/ those that are Factory based.

  • Extreme heavy machinery accident resulting in the loss of a limb or limbs

  • Severe injuries due to defective, poorly maintained or unwatched machinery

  • Falling from height due to a dangerous piece of equipment

Office Based Injuries

  • Lack of warning, poor maintenance or improper signage leading to trips or falls

  • Improper storage of cleaning solutions or other chemicals

  • Defective or unmaintained seating

  • Faulty or improper storage of electrical equipment

Retail Based Injuries

  • Slipping on spilled liquids or unsigned wet areas

  • Stock or clothing racks being incorrectly positioned

  • Straining on a repetitive basis

  • Heavy lifting, handling or carrying objects
